BYGTWSO!-Day 19

The weather wasn't quite so nice this day, but we made the best of it, riding the shuttle, driving to other areas, and taking shorter hikes between rain showers. The following pictures were taken from inside the shuttle. Hope you're not offended by the butt. I particulary like the picture with the shadow of the ram's curly horns. This gansta boy and his buddies are big trouble at Logan Pass. They bully people away from their picnics and eat their food.

We drove to Many Glacier, but oh, the WIND! The rain. We then drove to Two Medicine which is a much quieter aspect of the park. We found a lunch spot between showers which was sheltered by some pines from the wind coming off the lake. They kept telling us to be especially loud and human during wind so the bears could hear us. Well, as I complied, we managed to invite a Columbian ground squirrel to our table. "You called?" he asked. When we first moved to Montana, we lived right next to the Blackfoot River and colorful river rocks in Montana always mean MONTANA to me. We drove Highway 2 toward the west side of the park, stopping at Goat Lick along the way. We saw new snow at Logan Pass!

Almost full, moonrise over Glacier.

  1. Speaking of wind, I have to laugh because I was in Glacier in November (on the way to Cardston for my brother's wedding) and my dad's _lunch meat_ BLEW off his sandwich as he was making it!
