Day 1-Spring Break

Well, this is sort of before Spring Break started, officially, but I'm throwing it in, because really, the break starts the minute you're past your contract time. On Thursday 1 April, I left my lesson plans on a clean desk and went home to pack. When K got home, we headed to Salt Lake City for a hotel very near the airport. This is a trick we tried last month and it's worked out for us both times. Even sleeping next to the airport, we still had to wake up at 3:30 a.m. When you sleep close to the airport, it's okay if you wake up to three inches of snow because the airport is only two miles away instead of forty. Also, thanks to Phyllis, we tried a new traveling trick which perhaps the whole world already knows about...you can LEAVE your car at the hotel, for FREE, for the whole TEN DAYS or whatever. They shuttle you back and forth and don't mind at all if your car occupies space at their hotel. You should try it! Totally worth it!
