Ashokan Farewell

Sunday 27 July 2014

After stake council meeting and Sacrament Meeting, I headed north once again. Got there in time to pick my honey up to attend church in Lake. It's usually at 7:00 p.m. in the rec hall at Lake Lodge, but someone was getting MARRIED so they moved it over to the Lake Hotel up on the third floor. Afterward, we went back to the main floor and sat down to listen to the string quartet that plays at Lake Hotel. It was so lovely. So soothing. And the cucumber water didn't hurt either. The last piece they played before we left was Ashokan Farewell and it was...perfect. How grateful I am for talented musicians, a beautiful setting, and eyes and ears to take it all in!

The bison are in a rut. I just love watching them date (walking as if joined at the hip and licking their lady friends on the shoulder and snorting and stomping and grunting non-stop). Those bulls are so hormonal. Little chemicals in the brain can change an organism's behavior so dramatically. Ah, the Circle of Life.
